I am putting up bead board in a small bathroom, and my husband said that it is too thick (1/4″) and will cause the toilet tank to tilt forward. If this is the case, is there any way to move the tank forward on the toilet base?

My toilet tank is making a hissing sound and is leaking. I turned off the water but need to know what to do to fix the problem.
Thanks,
John Taylor

Hello Alice:
No, there is not. When you have completed your bead board, you will need to change the tank or the complete toilet to accommodate the new rough in dimension. Please see: http://www.professortoilet.com/2009/10/21/how-to-measure-a-toilet-rough-in/

Hello John:
Hi John, Now that the water if off, has the water that was in the tank leaked out? If yes, you need a replacement flapper and/or flush valve. If not, you will need to clean your fill valve of debris, or replace.
